Okowa commissions Roads, Projects in Sapele, Ethiope West

Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa recently commissioned multiple roads and projects in Sapele, Jesse, and Oghara, all in Ethiope West local government areas of Delta State respectively.

Speaking at the ceremonies which were attended by dignitaries including the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, the Orodje of Okpe kingdom, HRM Maj. Gen. Felix Mujakperuo (rtd), House of Assembly members and Chiefs, the Governor hinted that the government will be spending more resources on other aspects of the economy next year and also noted that there are many competing aspects of infrastructure beyond the road issue.

“We will try to ensure other aspects of the economy do not suffer, because of road construction. We intend that by next year, we will be spending more resources on other aspects,” adding that construction of roads will be secondary.

He, however, said he has taken notes of the request of the Chairman of Sapele Local Government Council. Hon. Eugene Inoaghan, who in his speech had appealed to the Governor for more roads to be constructed in the town with a promise to look into the request by the Orodje of Okpe, the HRM Maj. Gen. Felix Mujakperuo (rtd), and the representative of the Sapele Okpe community. Chief Tom Anirah both appealed for a higher institution in the town.

Earlier in his speech, Hon. Eugene Inoaghan had appealed to Okowa to open more roads in the town, saying that the Governor has delivered on his electioneering promises.

The Orodje in his speech, also said the Governor was a son to the kingdom, the Monarch recalled that in the sixties, Sapele Technical College had the same status as other Technical Colleges that has been upgraded to polytechnics, appealing that Sapele needs a higher institution.

Reacting to the Governor’s achievements, Hon. Ezekiel Daniel, the Senior Special Adviser on Security to Governor Okowa stated; “We are very happy with the good works of Governor Okowa in Sapele; I have repeatedly said he is a promise keeper and we want to thank him for bringing dividends of democracy to Deltans

Some of the roads, Okowa commissioned includes; Omene, Laboard, Lawrence roads in Sapele local government area, the Hon. Onosa and Mission road in Jesse and the Oghara Modern Market and Ogini Grammar school, all in Oghara, Ethiope West local government area of Delta State.
