Ganduje Accuses Kano Governor Yusuf and North Central Allies of Funding Protests Against Him

Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has accused Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf and his allies from the North Central Zone of sponsoring protests against him in Abuja.
Ganduje alleges that Yusuf and his cohorts have been hiring protesters to demand Ganduje’s resignation as the national chairman of the APC.
According to a statement by Ganduje’s Special Assistant on Civil Society and Support Groups, Okpokwu Ogenyi, the Kano State government has been employing protesters from the streets, including members of the Kwankwasiyya movement, some of whom are from the North Central geo-political zone.
These protesters have been wearing Kwankwasiyya T-shirts and caps during demonstrations at the APC national secretariat.
Ganduje’s camp claims to have credible information about Governor Yusuf’s collaboration with persons from the North Central Zone, who have reportedly received a significant amount of money to support the campaign against the Ganduje-led working committee.
This move is said to be a desperate attempt by Yusuf to remove Ganduje as the national chairman of the APC.
In response to these allegations, Ganduje has urged security agents to be vigilant in ensuring the safety of lives and property.
He has also expressed concern over the alleged misuse of state resources by the Kano State government to fund these protests, especially when the funds could be better utilized for the provision of basic amenities to the people of Kano State.
The statement by Ganduje’s camp underscores the growing political tensions within the APC, as well as the potential for further unrest.
It remains to be seen how this situation will develop and whether the accusations will be substantiated.
In the meantime, the allegations have cast a shadow over the relationship between Ganduje and Yusuf, as well as the stability of the ruling party.
