Tragic Road Accident in Ondo State Leaves Three Dead

A tragic road accident occurred on the Akungba-Ikare Road in Akoko South-West Local Government Area of Ondo State on Friday, claiming the lives of at least three individuals.
The crash involved a Toyota Camry car with the number plate LND 592 GX and two commercial buses.
According to an eyewitness, the driver of the Toyota Camry suddenly opened the door and hit a motorcycle, causing the rider and passengers to fall onto the road.
A vehicle coming from the opposite direction then ran over the victims, resulting in their immediate deaths.
The driver of the Toyota Camry fled the scene to avoid being lynched by angry youths, who subsequently set the car ablaze.
The victims were taken to Aduloju Hospital in Akungba by the police.
The Sector Commander of the Road Safety Commission in Ondo State, Ezekiel Son’Allah, confirmed the accident, attributing it to wrongful overtaking and route violation by the drivers of the vehicles involved.
He urged motorists to adhere to traffic rules and regulations, and also suggested the installation of speed breakers on the road to prevent further accidents.
This tragic event serves as a stark reminder of the importance of road safety and the need for drivers to exercise caution and responsibility while driving.
The loss of life in such accidents is a devastating reminder of the potential consequences of reckless driving.
