‘Shut Up, You Cannot Destabilize My Government,’ Gov. Alia Warns Predecessors

Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has issued a stern warning to his predecessors to refrain from interfering in his administration if they have nothing constructive to contribute to the state.
This statement comes after the immediate past governor, Samuel Ortom, criticized Governor Alia’s relationship with the Secretary General of the Federation, Senator George Akume.
During a briefing with journalists in Makurdi on Friday, Governor Alia emphasized that he would not allow any civil servant or former Governor to destabilize his administration.
He stated that those who have already had their term should “shut up” and refrain from causing chaos in the state.
The governor recently returned from the United States of America, where he, along with nine other governors from the North, were invited by the US Peace Institute to discuss solutions to the insecurity plaguing the region.
Governor Alia highlighted the importance of getting displaced persons back to their homes, a priority for his administration.
Governor Alia also addressed the issue of peace in Benue, noting that farmers are now returning to their farms in Gwer West, Gwer East, Guma, and Makurdi, among other areas.
He urged citizens to cooperate with security forces and serve as their own security personnel, stressing the importance of not being swayed by bribes or manipulation that could harm their communities.
Governor Alia’s strong stance against interference by his predecessors reflects his determination to maintain stability and security in Benue State.
With the support of the US Peace Institute and the cooperation of the state’s citizens, Governor Alia aims to improve the state’s security and foster a more peaceful environment for its residents.
