Orodje of Okpe marks 15 years on the throne with thanksgiving service

……..Warns against false information about COVID-19

 

The Orodje of Okpe HRM Major-General Felix Mujakperuo (rtd) Orhue I  has marked his 15-years reign on the throne with a thanksgiving Mass at St. William’s Catholic Church in Orerokpe, Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State.

Speaking during the service, the Monarch admonished Okpe people and all who came to celebrate with him to continue to observe COVID-19 protocols, warning those who go about giving false information about the Covid19 vaccine to desist from doing so.

According to him, the vaccine was a hundred per cent safe, using himself as an example that he had taken it and nothing had happened to him.

During the homily which was taken by Rev. Fr. Lucas Eke, he commanded the Orodje for restoring peace to the Okpe Kingdom and for infrastructural development.

He, therefore, urged the Monarch to continue the good work he started and remain the father figure to the indigenes of Okpe kingdom.

He pleaded with the Orodje to put extra efforts in bringing youth restiveness to an end, condemned the illegal collection of levies by youth, popularly known as ‘devel from landowners and builders, warning, “Foactivityf this act continues, it may hinder the development of the community.”

The highlight of the occasion was the presentation of a portrait of the Orodje by the members of St. Williams Catholic Church and the Catholic Women Organization.

The ceremony was attended by Chiefs, the immediate past Commissioner for Works, Chief James Augoye, Bishop Peter Efemena, Prayer Director Okpe Christian Association and other notable Christian leaders.
