Udensi Urges Otti to Provide Evidence of Alleged Corruption in Abia State

A chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Chikwe Udensi, has called on Abia State Governor Alex Otti to provide evidence to back up his recent allegations of corruption against his predecessor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu.
During a public lecture in the United States of America, Governor Otti claimed that a forensic audit revealed that the Ikpeazu administration had appropriated N107 billion and paid contractors for non-existent projects.
Reacting to these allegations, Udensi stressed the importance of substantiating such claims with concrete evidence.
He pointed out that the manner in which the Otti administration is handling the alleged embezzlement of N107 billion suggests that the allegations may not be true.
Udensi also highlighted previous instances where similar allegations made by the Otti administration were found to be untrue, further emphasizing the need for solid evidence to support the current claims.
Udensi criticized the approach of announcing the results of the alleged investigation in the United States rather than conducting a proper investigation within Abia State.
He emphasized the importance of following proper legal procedures and ensuring that all accused individuals are given a fair chance to defend themselves.
Udensi, a forensic investigator himself, pointed out that a proper forensic investigation requires the records of both the accuser and the accused to be in consonance with each other.
In addition to his concerns about the allegations, Udensi commended Governor Otti for his work in the area of infrastructure development.
However, he urged the government to focus on providing accurate information and ensuring that any allegations of corruption are backed by verifiable facts.
Udensi also noted that the people of Abia State deserve to know the truth about the alleged N107 billion, especially considering the challenges the state faced with paying salaries, pensions, and maintaining infrastructure during the previous administration.
As the situation unfolds, it remains crucial for Governor Otti’s administration to substantiate its allegations with clear evidence to ensure that the public is well-informed and that any individuals accused of corruption are given a fair opportunity to defend themselves.
