Nigeria’s House of Representatives has expressed concern over recent allegations of discrimination against Nigerians at a Chinese supermarket in Abuja.
The House Committee on China/Nigeria Parliamentary Friendship Group has called for calm and urged the public to allow a full investigation into the matter.
The allegations claim that a Chinese supermarket located on Umaru Yar’Adua road within the China General Chamber of Commerce in Abuja was operating a discriminatory policy against Nigerians.
In response, the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) sealed the supermarket on Monday.
The House Committee condemned any form of discrimination and underscored the importance of the mutual relationship between Nigeria and the Republic of China.
