 By Atevure Princess,

The Ighrakpata Consultation/Visitation Team has described as fallacious and misleading a publication in the Daily Independent of Thursday June 21, 2018 which alleged that Hon. Evelyn Omavowan Oboro used the name of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to allegedly hoodwink delegates in favour of Hon. Solomon Ighrakpata.

Hon. Evelyn Omavowan Oboro

In a statement signed by the Coordinator and Secretary of group; Hon. Efe Okonedo and Barr. Peter Agbaja respectively, condemned the publication, saying it aimed at abusing the mind of the Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, Chairman and leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state.

The statement reads, “the highly respected Hon. Evelyn Oboro, considering her vast experience in politics and being the political leader in Uvwie Local Government Area cannot make statements that are not in accordance with the rudiments of laid down rules of our great party.

“The peddlers of the fallacious publication are enemies of development of Uvwie Local Government Area who wants to grab power by sponsoring non-existent body (Uvwie Grassroots Movement) with a faceless chairman (Comrade Felix Uvwiekoro)”.

The statement explained that Hon. Evelyn Oboro, Member, Representing Okpe, Sapele, Uvwie Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives didn’t and never used such statements attributed to her by the disgruntled elements who are scared of the declaration of Hon. Solomon Ighrakpata to run for the seat of the Delta State House of Assembly, Uvwie Constituency.

According to the statement, Chief Solomon Ighrakpata is the chosen candidate by all categories of persons in Uvwie Local Government Area, adding that Hon. Evelyn Oboro and all leaders in Uvwie have the right to support a candidate they know is fit to represent the good people of Uvwie and build on the development of the council area.

“So for Hon. Evelyn Oboro to announce her intention to support Chief Solomon Ighrakpata, which other category of persons have done, to represent the good people of Uvwie, need not be a subject of unprofitable propaganda by those who know they cannot win primaries and the main election.

“It is an aberration for this masquerade, whom we all know and who is an unsellable aspirant in the forthcoming election to term Hon. Solomon Ighrakpata as an unpopular aspirant, when it is obvious that Chief Solomon Ighrakpata is the most popular aspirant in the race and the preferred person needed by all well meaning and responsible personality in all ramifications of Uvwie Local Government Area”, the statement added.

The statement advised the sponsor of the purported publication to come out and sell himself to the Uvwie people and not poorly hide in disguise to abuse the minds of the Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa and leaders and elders of the PDP in Delta state.
