Wike’s Youth Employment Initiative: Empowering FCT Indigenous Youths

Nyesom Wike, the newly appointed Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has initiated a series of youth empowerment programs aimed at addressing unemployment in the FCT.
Since assuming office, Wike has been focused on implementing President Bola Tinubu’s agenda on youth inclusion in governance, which includes a 30% affirmative action for youth participation in governance.
Dr. Udo Atang, the Pioneer Head of Service of the Federal Capital Territory Administration, praised Wike for his commitment to youth empowerment and inclusive governance.
He highlighted Wike’s directive to contractors to prioritize the employment of local youths in communities where projects are executed.
This initiative aims to ensure that the local population benefits from the economic opportunities created by these projects.
The youth leaders of the FCT have expressed their gratitude for these initiatives, which they believe will not only provide job opportunities but also contribute to the overall development of the FCT.
They have pledged their support to the FCT Administration and called for the appointment of youth aides to the Minister to enhance communication and understanding of youth concerns.
This development is a testament to President Bola Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda, which seeks to promote youth inclusion in governance and address the challenges faced by the youth population in Nigeria.
The youth leaders have promised to support the government in addressing insecurity and sensitizing communities about government programs and activities.
The FCT Minister’s commitment to youth empowerment is a positive step towards achieving sustainable development and reducing unemployment in the FCT.
It is hoped that these initiatives will be sustained and expanded to benefit more young people in the region.
