Oshiomhole Slams Notion of Poverty Relief Through Faith; Calls for Education Priority in Nigeria

Former Edo State Governor and current Senator Adams Oshiomhole made a bold statement criticizing the idea that faith in Jesus Christ can lift individuals out of poverty.
Oshiomhole, known for his straightforward approach, also highlighted the need for better governance and the prioritization of education in Nigeria.
During his address, Oshiomhole condemned the neglect of education by some governors, stressing that underprivileged children are being deprived of high-quality education.
He emphasized the role of religion in slowing down development in the country, noting that the notion of being saved from poverty by faith alone is a lie.
Oshiomhole pointed out the irony of religious leaders establishing businesses and claiming to be pastors while advocating for donations from public officials.
He called for more transparency and accountability in governance, urging Nigerians to take responsibility for ensuring that every child in the country has access to education.
The politician also criticized governors who prioritize their own children’s education in foreign schools while denying the same opportunities to the children of the poor.
He called for laws that ensure access to education for all children born in Nigeria, and the political will to enforce them.
This statement by Oshiomhole brings to light the critical issues of education, poverty, and governance in Nigeria, urging the nation to prioritize the well-being and development of its future generations.

Oshiomhole’s remarks serve as a wake-up call for Nigeria to address the challenges of education and poverty, emphasizing the importance of quality education for all and the need for responsible governance.
