Ughelli South House of Assembly: Group caution Ughievwen, Jeremi political zone

By Mamuzo Ayomo,

An Advocacy Group that styles itself as Concerned Citizens Advocacy Group (CCAG)  has called on the leaders of Ughievwen and Jeremi political zone in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State to tread carefully on the overbearing approach in pushing for the Delta State House of Assembly.

The Ughelli South LG Coordinator of the group, Comrade Andrew Esemor Eti who stated this while speaking to newsmen said it is the turn of Ewu political zone to produce the House of Assembly member in the forthcoming elections beginning with the PDP primary election slated for Wednesday 18th of May 2022.

The coordinator who frowned at the development noted that the three major political zones in Ughelli South have been enjoying a mutual zoning rotation arrangement between Ughievwen, Jeremi and Ewu political zone.

He added that he expects the leaders to build on the existing peace being enjoyed by the party in the local government from 1999 to date by urging their people to step down their House of Assembly aspirations solely for aspirants from Ewu.

In his words “It is a common knowledge that is open to the blind within and outside the local government that during the 2014/2015 elections comparable occurrences ensued, but after the intervention of truth and conscious driven leaders and stakeholders outside and within the local government, the chief promoter Olorogun (Hon) Talib Tebite as a fair player and equity conscious-minded leader withdrawn his interest for the sake of peace, justice, fairness and equity.

“In fact, Ewu and Olomu political blocks for equity and fairness did not feature any candidate for the 2014/2015 and 2019 elections, because it was solely Ughievwen political block affair.”

He argued that during Ewu political era in the House of Assembly, despite the enormous political influence and affluence of late senator Pius Akpor Ewherido in the local government and in the state he never and didn’t use such as an opportunity to suppress and oppressed the other two zones by nursing third term ambition.

Saying it is worthy of note that Hon. Talib Tebite who made such an attempt was quickly reminded of our gentleman agreement, convention and practice despite his brighter chances to clinch the party ticket then he obliged as a believer and benefactor of fairness and equity.

Warning that though Power is transient and it remains so they all need each other for any elections at any time and no political zone no matter their political arsenal can do it alone.
