TB Joshua’s Emmanuel TV To Exit DStv, GOtv

Emmanuel TV, the popular religious channel founded by the late Nigerian televangelist TB Joshua, has announced its departure from MultiChoice platforms, DStv and GOtv, as well as other pay-TV services.

The announcement comes after a damning three-part documentary by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Africa Eye, which detailed the alleged atrocities and sexual crimes committed by TB Joshua during his time as a preacher.

The highly viewed Emmanuel TV (DStv 390) has been a staple on DStv and GOtv for many years, offering a variety of programming from the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN).

The channel’s departure from these platforms is set to take effect on January 17th, 2024.

The BBC documentary, released in early 2024, brought to light numerous accounts of abuse, manipulation, and sexual assault allegedly perpetrated by TB Joshua and his inner circle.

The revelations have sparked a wave of controversy and criticism, with many questioning the legacy of the once-beloved Nigerian preacher.

In response to the documentary, Emmanuel TV has chosen to discontinue its broadcasting on DStv and GOtv.

The move is seen by some as an attempt to distance the channel from the controversy surrounding its founder. However, it remains to be seen how this decision will impact the future of Emmanuel TV and its loyal viewers.

As the controversy continues to unfold, the Nigerian public and the global religious community are left to grapple with the implications of the BBC’s findings and the future of Emmanuel TV.
