Nigeria’s Hope Lies in the Hands of the Igbo People – Shettima

Vice President Kashim Shettima has declared that the hope of Nigeria rests with the industrious and ambitious people of the South-East region.

Shettima made this statement during the recent flag-off of the Light Up Nigeria Project in Enugu State, emphasizing the critical role that the Igbo people play in shaping the nation’s economic future.

The Vice President commended the Igbo for their hard work and described them as “the Nigerian Jews,” highlighting their geographical mobility, economic enterprise, and educational ambition.

He said, “You have the hope of the nation, right in our midst. The hope of the nation rests with Ndigbo.”

President Bola Tinubu has made it a priority to restore the South-East region to its former glory as an industrial powerhouse.

The Light Up Nigeria Project is seen as a “transformation journey” and a “renewal of hope” for investors and industrialists in the region.

Shettima acknowledged that the project is a long-awaited solution to the power supply issues that have plagued the country’s economy for decades.

He emphasized that a thriving power sector is essential for Nigeria’s overall economic success, stating, “If the power sector works, Nigeria works too.”

The Vice President’s remarks have resonated deeply with the people of the South-East, who see this as a call to action and an opportunity to contribute even more significantly to the nation’s development.

The Light Up Nigeria Project is not just a symbolic gesture; it is a calculated endeavor to re-engineer the country’s economy, with the South-East region at the forefront of this transformation.

The message from Vice President Shettima is clear: Nigeria’s future is inextricably linked to the success of the South-East, and the Igbo people are the key to unlocking the country’s full potential.
