A police officer in Lagos, Nigeria, has demonstrated exemplary conduct by rejecting a N4 million bribe and arresting drug peddlers while seizing a large quantity of illicit drugs and some AK47 live ammunition.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Rilwan Kasumu, the officer in charge of Area K, Marogbo, Lagos State Command, led the police team in the arrest of Esther Newman Obiekezie, a 42-year-old drug peddler known as “Candy.”

The arrest took place at Obiekezie’s residence in Ilogbo, where she was found selling an illicit drug called “ICE.”

During the investigation, two individuals, Akete Esther and Oke Okebalam, attempted to bribe the police officers with N4 million to stop disrupting Obiekezie’s drug business.

However, the police officers, led by SP Kasumu, rejected the bribe, seized the cash as evidence, and arrested the duo.

It serves as a reminder that the Nigerian government and its agencies are committed to upholding the rule of law and ensuring the safety and well-being of its citizens.

In conclusion, the Lagos police officer’s rejection of the N4 million bribe and subsequent arrests of drug peddlers and seizure of ammunition demonstrate the determination of the Nigeria Police Force to maintain law and order in the country.
