Labour Party Treasurer Accuses Chairman of Collusion with Edo State Government

In a recent development within the Labour Party, National Treasurer Oluchi Opara has accused the party Chairman, Julius Abure, of being in collusion with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) government in Edo State.

This accusation comes after Opara demanded the accountability of about N3.5 billion in party finances on Monday.

According to Opara, the finances in question are proceeds from the sale of forms and other fundraising activities for the 2023 general elections.

She claims that Abure has not been transparent in his handling of the funds, raising concerns about a possible alliance with the Edo State government.

The Labour Party has been facing internal turmoil over the alleged missing funds, which has led to further divisions within the party.

The situation has sparked debates about the integrity of the party’s leadership and its ability to effectively manage its finances.

The accusations against Abure have also brought into question the role of the Edo State government in the Labour Party’s affairs.

The alleged collusion between Abure and the PDP government raises concerns about the independence and autonomy of the party as it prepares for the upcoming general elections.

As the Labour Party works to address these issues, it remains to be seen how the situation will affect the party’s performance in the elections and its future as a political force in Nigeria.
