Imo Professionals Applaud Uzodimma’s ‘Uninterrupted Power Supply’ Plans

Imo State professionals and businessmen have expressed their approval and support for Governor Hope Uzodimma’s recent efforts to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply in the state.
This development comes after Governor Uzodimma signed the Imo State Electricity Law, which will enable the state to manage and activate electricity transmission and distribution infrastructure, including the Amaraku power project and the Egbema Power Plant, which had been abandoned for over 18 years.
The Forum of Imo Professionals (FIP), a group of professionals, businessmen, and entrepreneurs in the state, praised Governor Uzodimma for securing President Bola Tinubu’s approval for the transfer of the Egbema Power Plant project to the Imo State Government.
They believe that this electricity initiative will lead to massive infrastructural development, rapid industrialization, the revamping of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), spur youth creativity, boost employment, achieve self-sufficiency in all sectors, and turn Imo into a major investment hub for the South East and the nation at large.
The professionals have also commended Governor Uzodimma for engaging a world-class power company from Egypt, Elsewedy Power Generation, for electricity generation, transmission, and distribution in the state.
They are confident that there will be adequate electricity supply in all parts of Imo State within the next eight months, given the framework already established by Governor Uzodimma.
In a statement by its coordinator, Ambassador (Dr) Greg Mbadiwe, the Forum expressed their appreciation for Governor Uzodimma’s electricity initiative, which they believe is essential for modern development.
They highlighted the suffering of businesses and the consequential social and economic distress that poor power supply has caused in Imo State.
The Forum believes that Governor Uzodimma has displayed exceptional political will, which resonates with the aspirations of the people and is reminiscent of the visionary leadership of Dee Sam Mbakwe.
The Forum is confident that in the next 12 months, Imo State will witness a fillip in industrialization, a resurgence in youth creativity and employment, and a return to the good old days as a major social and economic investment hub for the South East and the nation at large.
