Former Governor Bisi Akande Warns of Future Political Corruption in Nigeria

Former Governor of Osun State, Chief Bisi Akande, expressed his concerns about the potential increase in corruption among future politicians in Nigeria.

According to Akande, the current crop of political leaders must be cautious of political vagabonds who may challenge and accuse them of corruption in an attempt to take over the mantle of leadership.

Akande, who is also the interim National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), made these remarks during his 85th birthday celebration and the unveiling of Adebisi Akande Foundation and its Board of Trustees in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

He emphasized that these “vagabonds” are already present within the political party and are striving to become leaders.

The former governor also highlighted the issue of corruption being on the minds of many Nigerians, stating that “in a country where everybody is corrupt, who is that leader who will bell the cat?”

He further emphasized that the present generation does not want to work and instead wants everything by miracle, which he believes will only lead to blaming the government and not addressing the root cause of the problem.

In conclusion, Akande’s warning about the potential rise in corruption among future politicians in Nigeria serves as a reminder for the current political leaders to remain vigilant and address the issue of corruption within their ranks.

It also highlights the need for a change in mindset among the Nigerian people, to focus on hard work and dedication rather than expecting prosperity through miracles.
