Osun Community Protests Against Attacks on Lives, Appeals for Governor Adeleke’s Intervention

Residents of a community in Osun State recently staged a peaceful protest to voice their concerns over the increasing number of attacks on their lives and properties.

The protesters, who gathered at the state government secretariat in Osogbo, called for Governor Ademola Adeleke’s immediate intervention to address the security challenges faced by the community.

The protesters, consisting of men, women, and children, carried placards with various inscriptions such as “Our lives matter,” “Save us from incessant attacks,” and “Adeleke, come to our rescue.”

They claimed that the community has been under constant threat from criminal elements, leading to loss of lives and property.

One of the protesters, Mrs. Adetoun Adeyemi, said, “We can no longer sleep with our eyes closed due to the fear of being attacked. We are appealing to Governor Adeleke to help us by providing adequate security in our community.”

In response to the protest, Governor Adeleke’s spokesperson, Mr. Olawale Rasheed, assured the protesters that the governor is committed to ensuring the safety and security of all residents of the state.

He added that the government is working closely with security agencies to address the security challenges faced by the community.

The governor’s intervention comes at a time when security concerns are on the rise in various parts of Nigeria, with many communities calling for increased efforts to protect their lives and properties.

The outcome of Governor Adeleke’s intervention in this particular community will serve as a litmus test for his administration’s commitment to ensuring the safety of its citizens.
