Confusion hits Delta Church, as another middle-age woman collapses and die

Confusion broke out at a new generation Pentecostal Church in Sapele, Delta State, on Sunday as another middle-age woman,  collapsed in and died, barely a month after a popular trader in the town had died in similar circumstance in the same church.

The deceased Mrs Roona Ayomanor, the wife of the former Community Liaison Officer to Seplat Petroleum Company, Mr Churchill Ayomanor had gone to the church looking healthy, but suddenly slumped and died before help could come.

Advocate gathered that following the news of the death of his wife, the husband was said to have slumped too,” and was rushed to a private clinic where he is admitted at the Gana area of the Sapele.”

A source who claim to be in the church when the accident happened but pleaded for anonymity said, Mrs Ayomanor look hale and healthy when she arrived the Church with her kids for church service, “she was one of the early arrivals in church and she was full of life and smile for everyone, the service was in full flow when she suddenly slumped.”

The source added that efforts to save her failed, as she died before medical attention could be given to her at the private clinic which she where rushed to in Sapele.

Recall that early last month, a trader Mrs Doris Orugboh who hails from Ughelli in Delta State was said to have collapsed in the same Pentecostal church and died just as the church service was about to began.

Following this recent death stakeholders in the town are of the view that the causes of sudden death in the said church need to be investigated.

Speaking to Advocate, on the development, a public commentator in Delta State, Chief James Onosakponome, warned Nigerians to be wary of the church they attended, noting that many of the churches of today are not rooted on God’s foundation.

According to him, “these are death too many and I want to call on the authority to looking into the causes of sudden death in that particular church.

“I also want to warn our people, particularly our women to be wary of churches they attend in search of miracles. People should do a background check of the pastors or founders of church before submitting to the spiritual leadership, because many are wolf in sheep clothe.

Meanwhile, the remains of Mrs Ayomanor have been deposited at a mortuary in town.
