4,000 Policemen in Ibadan to Bolster Oyo State Security During 14th Biennial Police Games

Aimed at strengthening the security situation in Oyo State, the Nigeria Police Force has announced that over 4,000 policemen will be present in Ibadan for the 14th Biennial Police Games, also known as the “Oluyole 2024”.

The games, which are set to take place in the state capital, are expected to send a strong message to criminal elements and promote peace and unity in the country.

Muyiwa Adejobi, the Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police Force, made this announcement during a press conference on Thursday, emphasizing that the presence of such a large number of law enforcement personnel will serve as a deterrent to criminal activities in the state.

He also highlighted the potential for the games to bring economic and social development to Oyo State.

The event is not just about sports, as Adejobi stressed the importance of using the games to foster unity and strengthen the sovereignty of Nigeria.

The Inspector General of Police and various zonal Assistant Inspector Generals will be in attendance, making the event a high-profile affair.

In response to the announcement, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Seyi Makinde, Sulaimon Olanrewaju, confirmed that the state government has made significant efforts to ensure the success of the games.

He encouraged the public to come and witness the event, which will showcase the police force’s commitment to maintaining peace and security in the state.

The 14th Biennial Police Games in Ibadan is set to be a major event, with the presence of a large number of law enforcement personnel not only providing an opportunity for sports and camaraderie but also serving as a reminder of the importance of security and unity in Nigeria.
