FG: President Tinubu to Sign Executive Orders for Affordable Medicines

The Nigerian government has announced that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be signing executive orders to bring down the costs of medicines in the country.

This move comes as a response to the rising prices of pharmaceuticals, which have caused significant concern among the citizens.

According to Tunji Alausa, the Minister of State for Health, these executive orders will provide immediate relief to the Nigerian people.

The government is also working on medium and long-term solutions to address the issue of high-priced pharmaceuticals and medical consumables.

The Minister of Health, Ali Pate, had previously emphasized the need for executive orders to enable fair pricing of essential medicines, especially after the exit of major multinational pharmaceutical companies from Nigeria.

The government is now taking swift action to ensure that the situation does not worsen.

President Tinubu’s administration has made significant commitments to revamp and improve Nigeria’s healthcare system.

The 2024 budget for healthcare is the largest in the country’s history, which demonstrates the government’s dedication to fulfilling its campaign promises.

The executive orders that President Tinubu is set to sign will not only provide immediate relief to the citizens but also pave the way for a more sustainable and affordable healthcare system in Nigeria.

As the government works on both short-term and long-term solutions, it is evident that the well-being of the Nigerian people is a top priority.
