2019: Niger Delta Ex-militants endorses Al-Mustapha for president

Ahead of the forthcoming Presidential election, top Ex-militant leaders under the umbrella of Niger Delta Ex-militants for Peace and Good Governance (NDEPG) yesterday endorsed Hamza Al-Mustapha for president of Nigeria.

Rising from a closed door meeting held in Gbaramatu kingdom in Delta State, Chairman of the group, Alaowei Promise Lawuru popularly known as ‘General Black’ while briefing journalists said they were convinced that the former CSO to late maximum ruler, Sani Abacha, Al-Mustapha who is the candidate of the Green Party of Nigeria (GPN) is the only person who can take Nigerians to the promise land.

According to them, “Former CSO to late General Sani Abacha who was one of the brains behind the creation of Bayelsa State is the only one who can truly complete the restructuring Programme Nigerians are clamouring for and his Political party ‘The Green Party of Nigeria’ already have a master plan for Niger Delta Development. And in our interactive section with Al-Mustapha, he said Niger Delta can still be relevant without oil and the Dream of Niger Delta beyond oil must be successfully achieved”

This is just a crucial meeting where we made a final decision to garner support for Al-Mustapha and at the appropriate time, we will hold an enlarged meeting with other leaders across Niger Delta and ensure that they vote massively for Hamza Al-Mustapha in other for him to emerge president come 2019″. The group noted.

The Ex-militant further urged all Niger Delta leaders to look beyond political party lines because PDP has tried their best likewise APC, still the issue of Niger Delta is not being addressed properly; adding that Al-Mustapha should be given the chance to actualize the dean’s of Nigerians.
