Delegates united for George Orogun, vows to support integrity, competence and sincerity of purpose

By Comrade Bright Akpoguma,

As the Party primaries draws near, stakeholders and party leaders in Ethiope Federal Constituency have been scheming for the best aspirant to emerge through delegates expected to work in line with the parties constitution and INEC guidelines.

Over the weekend, several secret meetings were held at different locations with statutory and ad-hoc delegates in attendance. The sole aim of such meetings centered on block-vote for the most suitable aspirant.

The same method was adopted in 2015 when it became obvious that the incumbent at the time, Hon Sunny Akpodiogaga Emeyese could not justify his twelve (12) years as member representing Ethiope East Constituency during his period in the State House of Assembly (DTHA) and four (4) years as member representing Ethiope Federal Constituency between 2011 and 2015.

Party leaders weighed Emeyese’s performance and scored him far below average. Luckily for Hon Lovett Idisi, he came calling and the leaders and major stakeholders decided to give him a trial.

Ethiope East leaders then went ahead to strike a deal with Senator Ighoyota Amori to urge Ethiope West to vote for Idisi so that Ethiope East can vote Amori for Senate. The deal gave Lovett Idisi a clean bill and he emerged as party candidate with little or no effort. Emeyese’s abysmal performance elevated Idisi in 2015.

Surprisingly after the election, Idisi turned his back on majority of the party leaders and constituents and decided to party with a few folks believing strongly that they are the kingmakers in the federal constituency coupled with his blink relationship with Chief James Ibori, because of his maternal geneology in Ethiope West.

Thus, Idisi became arrogant, heady, sacarstic, uncontrollable and began to boast about that “the son of a Lion is also a Lion,” referring to his late father’s acumen and social status as a successful business tycoon.

Idisi began to ride bicycle around his communities with the sole intention to brainwash his constituents, tried to make them accept that bicycle is far better than his G-Wagon Mercedes valued at N75 million. The people revolted and chanted war songs against Idisi for trying to market adject property in Ethiope Federal Constituency. The rest is now history.

It follows that when the elders met over the weekend, Idisi was x-rayed and properly scrutinized and behold they found out that the same non-perfoemance sin of Emeyese repeated itself in Idisi. The last minute scanty empowerment and petty projects by Idisi could not appeal to his constituents and party leaders.

The heated stakeholders political debate settled and it was a massive vote for Barrister George Orogun. Delegates were carried along at various strategic meetings held under lock and key, instructing them to vote enmass for Orogun at the party primaries.

The choice of Orogun was on merit. His credentials are superb, as well as his career in banking and as a public servant without blemish. They averred that Orogun is real, calm but calculated, responsible, successful through personal hardwork and yet gentle and humble.

The elders and stakeholders agreed that Orogun is more focused, goal oriented as can be seen from past antecedents in public and private sector whereas most of the other aspirants do not have sufficient background data to ascertain their integrity, honesty and pedigree. Some of them depended solely on estates willed to them by late parents while some others were alleged to have dented their image through consistent involvements in advance fee fraud (419 G-men).

In all of these, Barrister George Orogun stood out as a spotless and clean aspirant with good track records to show for his sincerity of purpose which is badly needed in an aspirant that is worth his salt in this dispensation.

Stakeholders strongly believe that Orogun will be able to use his laudable wealth of experience to create jobs and wealth for our teeming youths, women and other constituents, and also attract meaningful development to Ethiope East and Ethiope West LGAs.

Delegates in Ethiope Federal constituency are no longer in doubt as to who their votes should go to; it’s George Orogun, a true son of AGBON Kingdom from Orhuakpor axis near ISIOKOLO.

He has been duly endorsed and accepted by leaders and stakeholders in Ethiope Federal constituency.

George Orogun shall go for the good people of Ethiope Federal Constituency, come 2019.
