Yahaya Bello Set to Announce New Kogi Monarch

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State is set to unveil the new Ohinoyi of Ebiraland.

A committee of kingmakers conducted a thorough selection process and recommended seven candidates for the coveted position before making the announcement.

The new monarch will succeed the late Dr. Ado Ibrahim, who passed away in October 2023 after a prolonged illness.

The candidates vying for the throne include prominent figures such as former Deputy Governor Dr. Philip Salawu, former Clerk to the National Assembly Barrister Ataba Sani Omolori, and Gen. Yusuf Abubakar Amuda.

In a recent meeting with the aspirants, Governor Bello urged them to support whoever the state government ultimately appointed because they were all qualified.

The governor also emphasised that he is leaving Kogi State in a better state than when he first took office.

There will be a number of dignitaries and members of the public present for the new monarch’s unveiling next week.

The new Ohinoyi of Ebiraland will play a crucial role in the development and progress of the state, and the people of Kogi eagerly await the announcement of their new leader.
