Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has deposed a first-class traditional ruler, the Ohimege Igu, Konto-Nkarfe, Alhaji Abdulrazaq Isa Koto.
The deposed monarch has also been banished to Rijau Local Government area of Niger State.
The news has sent shockwaves through the state as the Governor has also appointed Alhaji Salihu Akawu Seidu, popularly known as SAS, to replace the deposed monarch.
The new Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, Alhaji Ahmed Tijani Anaje, was also appointed.
The Governor’s decision to depose and banish the traditional ruler has sparked debates on social media, with many expressing their opinions on the matter.
Some have praised the Governor’s decisive action, while others have criticized it as being too harsh.
