Representatives from the Delta Online Publishers Forum (DOPF) on Thursday visited the University of Delta (UNIDEL), Agbor, to discuss potential collaborative efforts that could be mutually beneficial.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Stella Chiemeka, warmly welcomed the DOPF delegation, led by Chairman Mr. Emmanuel Enebeli. She praised the Forum for its effective coverage of the university’s activities, which has significantly enhanced the institution's visibility and appeal to prospective students.
Professor Chiemeka, a distinguished professor of Computer Science, expressed her commitment to strengthening the partnership with DOPF. She highlighted that the university, renowned for its academic excellence and athletic achievements, is eager to work together with the Forum to achieve greater heights.
The Vice Chancellor also noted that despite the admission limits set by JAMB, applications to UNIDEL have surged from about one thousand to over eleven thousand. Furthermore, she proudly stated that all 74 programs offered by the university have been accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC) within the past three years.

Professor Chiemeka added that the university's medical courses are currently undergoing the accreditation process, with promising prospects of full accreditation from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria. She acknowledged the support of the State Governor, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, who approved the use of the Trauma Centre, Agbor, for medical training, thereby enhancing the quality of graduates from the College of Medical Sciences.
Mr. Emmanuel Enebeli, speaking on behalf of the Forum, congratulated Professor Chiemeka on her appointment and commended her remarkable achievements in just three years. He advocated for a stronger partnership between DOPF and UNIDEL, ensuring continued coverage of university activities, which he believes will benefit the institution.
During the visit, the DOPF delegation was presented with souvenirs. The meeting was attended by Mr. Edward Ogwude, Director of Communication at the University of Delta.
