Gozie Anyacheblu Polytechnic in Onitsha is preparing to launch a major tech skills showcase and scholarship initiative. Officials say the event will spotlight innovation and push academic excellence among young people across Anambra State.
Helen Abone, the polytechnic's rector, made the announcement on Wednesday in Onitsha. She confirmed the exhibition will hold at the institution's campus within All Saints' Cathedral Compound.
Secondary schools participating must send their best 20 graduating students to compete. Abone explained that students will have a chance to display talents and present creative ideas in a structured learning environment.
An Artificial Intelligence competition forms the centrepiece of the programme. Participants will use AI tools to develop graphic designs and showcase their technical abilities.
According to Abone, the competition exposes students to cutting-edge technology. "We want them to build the digital skills they'll need in today's world," she told reporters in Onitsha.
Top performers stand to win scholarships for university education. Abone noted that winners will receive funding support for their tertiary studies.
The polytechnic expects attendees from across the state and beyond. Tech enthusiasts, individual innovators, and secondary school students will gather to celebrate creative work and practical skill development.
