Tragic Accident in Kwara Claims Three Lives: FRSC Reports

A fatal motor accident occurred on Monday in Kwara State, resulting in the tragic loss of three lives.

The accident, which involved a truck carrying soybean en route to Lagos from the North, a petrol tanker, and another truck conveying soft drinks, took place along the Ilorin/Bode-Saadu/Jebba Expressway.

According to the Kwara State Fire Service, the vehicles burst into flames after a head-on collision, causing a massive fire that engulfed the scene.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the accident and the casualty figures in a statement released on Monday.

The Kwara State Sector Commander of the FRSC, Stephen Dawulung, stated that preliminary investigations revealed that the accident occurred as a result of a wrong overtaking by the truck conveying soybean.

The incident led to an inferno that burnt the vehicles and a motorcycle involved in the crash.

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq visited the scene of the accident on Tuesday morning to interact with community folks and assess the situation.

The incident has left the community in mourning, and the FRSC has urged motorists to exercise caution while driving and adhere to traffic rules to prevent such accidents in the future.

This tragic event serves as a grim reminder of the importance of road safety and the need for constant vigilance while driving.
