Thierry Henry has called on Mikel Arteta to give Myles Lewis-Skelly another start. Arsenal's former striker wants the youngster in the lineup for Tuesday's Champions League semi-final clash with Atletico Madrid.
Lewis-Skelly impressed during the weekend's 3-0 Premier League win over Fulham at home. Arteta had selected him in midfield ahead of Martín Zubimendi for that encounter.
Henry told Sky Sports on Monday that the teenager stood out. "Miles was just different," he said, praising the performance in emphatic terms.
The Arsenal legend acknowledged the challenge of facing Atletico Madrid in such a crucial tie. He noted that Zubimendi's experience offers security when the stakes are highest.
"I wouldn't mind if he starts him," Henry noted. "But I can understand the thinking given how important this game is."
Still, he couldn't hide his enthusiasm about Lewis-Skelly's potential. "He was brave out there," according to Henry's assessment of Saturday's display.
Experience matters in these knockout encounters, he admitted to reporters. Yet he insisted he'd welcome seeing the young midfielder feature against Atletico on Tuesday night.
