TETFund to Support King’s College, London, in Establishing Medical School in Abuja

The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) has announced its support for King’s College, London, in its partnership with the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) to establish a medical school in Abuja.

The Executive Secretary of TETFund, Arc. Sonny Echono, expressed the organization’s enthusiasm for the project, highlighting the long-standing relationship between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.

He emphasized the importance of addressing the challenges faced by the country, particularly in the field of medical sciences, and the significant foreign exchange expenditure on medical tourism.

King’s College, London, has a rich history of collaborating with various institutions in Europe, and this partnership with Afreximbank is expected to address the issue of brain drain in Nigeria.

The medical school, to be co-located with a hospital in the outskirts of Abuja, will offer education, training, and research opportunities for students and professionals in the medical field.
