Southampton Break 103-Year Record in Impressive 3-1 Victory Over Swansea

Southampton FC made history on January 20, 2024, by breaking a 103-year-old club record with their 21st consecutive game unbeaten, following a triumphant 3-1 win over Swansea City.

The victory not only secured their place in the record books but also propelled them to second place in the EFL Championship table.

The match, held at the Swansea.com Stadium, saw Southampton dominate from the start. Che Adams opened the scoring in the sixth minute, followed by a goal from Will Smallbone in the 20th minute.

Swansea managed to pull one back in the 40th minute with a header from Jamie Paterson, but their hopes were short-lived as Flynn Downes restored Southampton’s two-goal lead just two minutes later.

The second half saw a more determined Swansea side, as they created several chances to get back into the game.

With this historic win, Southampton have sent a strong message to their rivals and demonstrated their potential to challenge for promotion to the Premier League.

As the season progresses, it remains to be seen if they can maintain their impressive form and continue to break records.
