Soludo’s Road Construction and Repainting Initiative Transforms Onitsha

In an effort to transform the city of Onitsha in Anambra State, Governor Chukwuma Soludo has recently initiated a road construction and repainting project that has garnered significant attention and praise.

The project, which aims to improve the overall appearance and infrastructure of the city, has been met with enthusiasm by residents and local officials alike.

On February 24, 2024, a town hall meeting was held in Fegge, Onitsha South Local Government Area, where residents and landlords gathered to commend the governor for his efforts.

The construction of the Port Harcourt road and other roads in Fegge has been a major highlight of the project, and residents are eager to see more improvements in the future.

The All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) chapter in Onitsha South has also expressed their support for Governor Soludo, stating that his achievements will speak for themselves come the 2025 gubernatorial election.

The governor has vowed to crack down on those who dump refuse into drainages and block roads, ensuring that the city remains clean and safe for its residents.

In addition to road construction, Governor Soludo has also introduced a unique initiative called “Ka Anambra Chakee.” Under this program, the first street in Onitsha to complete their repainting from February 1 to March 10, 2024, will receive a cash prize of 10 million.

The runners-up will receive 5 million, and the third-place winner will receive 3 million.

The Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Felix Odimegwu, has emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating that it is not only for the city’s aesthetic appeal but also for the health benefits of its residents.

The goal is to transform Onitsha from its current reputation as one of the dirtiest places in West Africa to a clean and attractive destination for foreign investors and businesses.

With the ongoing road construction and the “Ka Anambra Chakee” initiative, the city of Onitsha is on its way to a brighter and more prosperous future.

The efforts of Governor Soludo and his team have been met with widespread support and appreciation from residents, and it is clear that this project will have a lasting impact on the city and its people.
