Soludo Bans Sand Excavation in 5 Anambra Communities

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has announced a ban on sand excavation in five communities within the state. The affected communities are Nteje, Nsugbe, Nkwelle-Ezunaka, Umunya, and Aguleri.

The ban, comes as part of Governor Soludo’s efforts to promote sustainable development and address the concerns of environmental pollution in the state.

The governor has also warned residents against engaging in activities that could lead to environmental degradation.

According to Soludo, the ban will help preserve the natural environment and prevent further damage to the ecosystem.

He added that the government is committed to ensuring that the state remains environmentally friendly and sustainable.

The state government has also announced plans to launch a massive tree planting campaign in the affected communities to mitigate the impact of the sand excavation.

The campaign, which is set to begin in February, will involve the planting of over 100,000 trees in the affected areas.
