In a bold step toward improving access to education in Delta State, Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North Senatorial District, has announced full four-year scholarships for 90 students across the district’s nine local government areas.

The announcement was made on Saturday, June 14, 2025, during a Delta North APC stakeholders’ meeting held in Idumuje-Ugboko, the senator’s hometown. The event brought together party stalwarts, traditional leaders, and supporters from all corners of Delta North.

Each local government area in the district will benefit equally, with 10 students selected per LGA. The scholarship will cover tuition, accommodation, books, and other academic-related costs throughout the duration of their undergraduate studies.

“I want our future generation to be equipped with the tools they need to succeed,”

Senator Nwoko stated, noting that the initiative is part of his long-term vision for youth development and educational advancement in Delta North.

He emphasised that selection must be based on merit and financial need, urging community and party leaders to ensure a transparent process.

The initiative was met with widespread applause from local leaders and community members, who described it as a timely and impactful intervention in the lives of many families.

A party leader from Aniocha North remarked, “This shows that Senator Nwoko is committed to meaningful development beyond politics.”

Senator Nwoko, known for his advocacy on education and empowerment, continues to build on his grassroots reputation by investing in initiatives that address core developmental needs within his constituency.

This scholarship program reinforces his belief that education remains a powerful tool for economic mobility, social inclusion, and sustainable development.
