Security Operatives Launch Special Intervention Squad to Combat Kidnappings in FCT

In a decisive move to tackle the rising cases of abductions in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the Nigerian Police Force has recently inaugurated the Special Intervention Squad.

The squad is specifically aimed at curbing the activities of kidnappers and bandits, particularly in border towns within the territory.

The launch of the squad, which was spearheaded by the Inspector-General of Police Olukayode Egbetokun, comes in the wake of the abduction of six young girls in the Bwari Area Council of the FCT.

The police have since been working tirelessly to rescue the victims and bring the perpetrators to justice.

In addition to the Special Intervention Squad, the police have deployed tactical units to comb bushes and shanties in border areas between the FCT, Niger, Kaduna, and Nasarawa States.

This move is aimed at intensifying efforts to rescue the remaining 23 abducted girls and put an end to the menace of kidnapping in the region.

The police have also arrested a notorious Abuja kidnapper, Chinaza Phillip, who is now in the custody of the FCT Police Command.

This arrest is a testament to the commitment of the security operatives in ensuring the safety and security of the residents of the FCT.

The recent developments in the security landscape of the FCT have demonstrated the determination of the Nigerian Police Force to tackle the issue of kidnapping head-on.

With the launch of the Special Intervention Squad and the deployment of tactical units to border areas, residents of the FCT can rest assured that their safety and security are top priorities for the police.
