A tragic road crash in Abuja's Central Business District claimed four lives on Saturday evening. The accident happened around 6:00 p.m., creating severe traffic congestion in the area.

Three men and a woman died in the collision. All four were returning from Sallah celebrations when disaster struck, according to an eyewitness who spoke on condition of anonymity.

Stanley Gonji, commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps rescue unit at City Gate, said his team rushed to the scene immediately. Officers successfully pulled the victims from the wreckage.

Emergency responders transported all four bodies to the National Hospital in Abuja. The FRSC hadn't released details about what caused the crash by press time.

Investigators plan to continue probing the incident in coming days. Officials are still gathering evidence and statements from witnesses at the scene.
