Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has announced the commissioning of the Lagos Red Line project, which he believes will not only improve mobility but also reshape the urban landscape and set a new pace for development.
The governor recently carried out a test run of the Lagos Red Line ahead of its commissioning by President Bola Tinubu today.
The Red Line is a 37 km rail line that integrates key bus terminals at Oyingbo, Yaba, Oshodi, Ikeja, and Iju.
In a statement on X (formerly Twitter), Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized that the project is more than just a transportation improvement, but a generational leap for the city of Lagos.
He expressed his belief that the Red Line will open doors to opportunities, growth, and a sustainable future by connecting critical points across the city.
The governor’s vision for the project is to make Lagos a global model city for urban excellence.
He called on Lagosians and Nigerians who live and do business in the metropolis to join him in riding into a brighter, more connected future together.
As the Red Line prepares to launch, it represents not only an improvement in transportation but also a symbol of progress and development for the city of Lagos.
