Rangers chairman Amobi Ezeaku has put to rest speculation about Fidelis Ilechukwu's future at the club. Speaking to journalists in Enugu, Ezeaku firmly backed the technical adviser to continue next season.

Ilechukwu guided Rangers to their ninth NPFL title last campaign. His performances had sparked talk of a possible exit from the Enugu-based outfit.

"The young tactician will stay with us," Ezeaku said when asked about replacing his coach. He dismissed suggestions the club was considering other options.

According to the chairman, he met with Ilechukwu during the Super Eagles' Portugal trip. Ilechukwu laid out specific challenges facing the team, Ezeaku noted.

"We've assured him we'll address those issues next season," the chairman added. Rangers plans to back the tactician fully to compete in the CAF Champions League.

Club officials say they're committed to supporting Ilechukwu's vision. Success in continental competition is among their key targets going forward.
