Fulham has stepped up their pursuit of Trabzonspor defender Chibuike Nwaiwu, sources close to the club confirmed Wednesday.

Nwaiwu impressed during his six months in Turkey after joining from Austrian side Wolfsberger AC in January.

According to reports, the English Premier League club tabled a second bid worth around €20 million for the Nigerian centre-back.

Trabzonspor turned down that offer. They had previously rejected an initial €15 million proposal, insiders say.

The Black Sea club is holding out for €30-35 million to release their prized defender.

Fulham already have two Nigerians on their books—Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey.
