Prominent Obedient Movement Member Joins APC in Ebonyi State

A prominent member of the Obedient Movement in the Southeast States, Ambassador Obinna Ukor, has officially left the Labour Party (LP) and joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi State.

The decision was influenced by Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru’s commendable achievements in the state.

Ukor’s defection took place on Friday night at the Party’s state Headquarters in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi capital.

He cited the Governor’s ability to lead the people beyond partisan politics as a major factor in his decision.

Ukor’s cousin, Fred Ukor, also joined the APC, praising the Governor Nwifuru-led administration for its youth empowerment programs that have improved the lives of street hawkers and menial workers.

The state chairman of the APC, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, welcomed the decampees and thanked them for their active participation in the 2024 general elections, which produced a South-East Presidential candidate of Igbo extraction.

The defection of Obinna and Fred Ukor from the Labour Party to the All Progressives Congress in Ebonyi State highlights the impact of Governor Nwifuru’s achievements on the political landscape in the region.
