President Tinubu Orders Payment of Aso Rock Villa’s Electricity Debts

President Bola Tinubu has taken decisive action to address the outstanding electricity debts of the Aso Rock Villa.

A press statement issued by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information & Strategy, shed light on the matter.

According to the statement, the total electricity debt owed by the State House was N342,352,217.46.

President Tinubu has instructed that the debt be cleared after a reconciliation of accounts between the State House Management and the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC).

This decision comes in light of a disagreement with the AEDC’s initial claim of N923million in unpaid electricity bills.

This move by President Tinubu highlights his commitment to transparency and accountability in the management of public funds.

It also emphasizes the importance of ensuring that all government agencies and departments fulfill their financial obligations in a timely manner.

The resolution of this issue will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the relationship between the Aso Rock Villa and the AEDC, and it sets a good example for other government institutions to follow.

As the situation unfolds, it will be interesting to see how this decision affects the overall management of public funds in Nigeria.
