Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has approved a reshuffle in his cabinet, moving Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza from the Ministry of Information to the Ministry of Special Duties (Government House), following his unimpressive performance in the Information ministry.

The governor announced that, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, previously overseeing Ministry of Works Rural Roads, now takes charge of the newly combined Ministry of Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information.

The cabinet adjustment, announced by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Kingsley Eze Emu, is aimed at strengthening the implementation of the administration’s MORE Agenda, ensuring effective governance and project delivery.

During a press briefing in his new role, Aniagwu stated that Governor Oborevwori remains focused on governance and is committed to addressing critics through tangible projects across the state. "His business, at the moment, is governance, and he is not distracted by side talks or political battles," Aniagwu emphasized.

Highlighting the administration's achievements, Aniagwu outlined ongoing and completed projects such as the Okpanam-Ibusa Bypass, Beneku Bridge, and Asaba-Ughelli dual carriageway. He noted that Julius Berger is transforming the Warri-Effurun corridor with flyover bridges and road expansion projects.

In healthcare, the administration has upgraded over 150 primary healthcare centers, general hospitals, and Colleges of Nursing and established a new College of Health Technology at Ovrode. Similarly, in education, a campus of the Southern Delta State University has been operationalized in Orerokpe, with a College of Health Sciences launched at Ozoro.

Aniagwu also disclosed that Oborevwori's government has paid over ₦200 billion to reduce the state’s debt and continues to mobilize contractors for new and ongoing projects. Housing initiatives, including 50 units in Ozoro, Kwale, and Owa-Oyibu, are underway, alongside economic diversification through partnerships like the UTM LNG gas project.

The Commissioner assured that the administration is focused on delivering dividends of democracy to Deltans, including revamping state-owned broadcast stations in Asaba and Warri to enhance public communication. "The Governor’s commitment to infrastructure, healthcare, and fiscal responsibility underscores his determination to uplift the state," he added.

Flanked by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sir Festus Ahon, and the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Public Enlightenment (Projects and Policies), Mr Olisa Ifeajika, the Commissioner said Governor Oborevwori was not interested in any political fight but was primed to responding to critics with the delivery of many more viable projects.

"We have seen a whole lot of publications in different places, including those that are insinuating that he is leaving the PDP.

"Oborevwori is a very proud member of the Peoples Democratic Party. Today, Oborevwori is a clear leader amongst leaders of the party in Nigeria, and he is not in any way hungry to abandon the Peoples Democratic Party."

Aniagwu remarked that Governor Oborevwori had kept faith with the continuation and completion of inherited projects, while also initiating new ones.

"Having continued with the numerous projects he inherited, he is currently advancing the state with completion of ongoing roads, while also initiating more projects.
