Police commends officer for excellent job, hails the public for releasing information

The commander, Police Eagle Net Squared of the Delta State Police Command, DSP Usman Dimka has been praised for a diligent, excellent service, and for exercising professionalism in his job that led to the recovery of a General Purpose Machine Gun, GPMG and 1 AK 47 guns including ammunitons at Ekpan in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.

Following the directives of the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris to curb the proliferation of illegal firearms and the disarmament, mopping-up and recovery of prohibited firearms, ammunitions and weapons in the hands of suspected militias, bandits, vigilante groups, among others in parts of Nigeria, the Eagle Net Squared of the Nigeria Police, Delta State Command led by DSP Usman Dimka was able to arrest and recovered two dangerous military weapons from one Master Odivwri Kobiruo, 25, of Ekpan community in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State on Monday, April 9, 2018.

A source close to the police authority confide on ADVOCATE ONLINE that the Inspector General of Police was impressed by the performance of the police and said the commander of the Eagle Net must be commended for his proficiency, humane and professionalism.

 

 

 

 

The source further stated that the force headquarters are also impressed with the Delta State Police Commissioner, Mohammed Mustapha and commended him for creating an enabling environments for officers and men of the force to operate safely without interference.

 

 

 

The suspect who was arrested following a tip off was said to be hidding the weapons in his grandmothers house.

 

 

 

On his part, the Delta State Police Public Relation boss, DSP Andrew Aniamaka who confirmed the recovery of the weapons and the arrest of the suspects through a phone call put across to him by ADVOCATE ONLINE, commended the efforts of the general publics who willingly gave out informations that led to arrest of the suspect. He thanked the public and urged them to always field the police with accurate and credible informations that will enable the police protect lives and curb crimes in the society.

 

 

 

The police image maker also commended the dogged efforts and bravery of the officers and men attached to the Eagle Net Squared of the Nigerian Police, Delta State Police Command and called on them to always adhered to professionalism and International best practices that will promote the image of the force.

 

 

 

In the same vein, a community source at Ekpan in Uvwie Local Government Area has commended the Delta State Government, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for supporting security issues in the state. The source noted that since the inception of the administration, the Governor has never relent efforts on security issues.

 

 

 

 

Meanwhile, the suspect, Master Odivwri kobirou is under police custody as police are still investigating if other dangerous weapons are still in wrong hands in the area.

 

 

 

It could be recalled that last week, during a press briefing, the Commissioner of Police Delta State, Mohammed Mustapha disclosed that 200 weapons and ammunitions have been recovered from both Sapele, Warri, Asaba and environs with an extended period of grace given to others to surrender theirs.
