NOUN Matriculates 28,514 Fresh Students in Diverse Programs

The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) recently celebrated the matriculation of 28,514 new students.
This diverse group of learners will embark on their academic journey across various undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the university’s faculties.
The ceremony took place in Abuja, marking a momentous occasion for the institution and its new students.
Out of the total number of new students, 21,026 have been enrolled in undergraduate programs, while 7,460 have been admitted into postgraduate studies.
In addition, 28 postgraduate students have registered for doctorate degrees, demonstrating the university’s commitment to fostering advanced learning and research opportunities.
During the 26th matriculation ceremony, Professor Olufemi Peters, the Vice-Chancellor of NOUN, addressed the new students and emphasized the unique opportunities that Open and Distance Learning (ODL) provides.
He encouraged the students to be ambassadors of the institution, representing the values of excellence and determination as they progress in their academic careers.
The Vice-Chancellor highlighted the flexibility of the ODL system, which allows students to study at their own pace and convenience, making it an ideal choice for those balancing other commitments such as work or family.
He also assured the students that they would have access to a wide range of facilities, including physical and e-library resources, science laboratories, and in-person and e-exams.
