The All Progressives Congress (APC) youths in Zamfara State have called on Governor Dauda Lawal to focus on the effective governance and proper management of the state’s resources.
The group expressed their concerns over the alleged waste of resources and urged the governor to prioritize the needs of the citizens.
In a statement released by the group’s chairman, Abubakar Ibrahim Gusau, the youths questioned why Governor Dauda Lawal has not established a Judicial Commission of Inquiry to investigate the alleged corruption of his predecessor, Dr. Bello Matawalle.
They pointed out that there is no court order restraining the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) from investigating, arresting, and prosecuting Matawalle.
The APC youths also called on the EFCC and other relevant anti-graft agencies to investigate and prosecute contractors who failed to execute contracts that have already been paid for by previous governments.
They emphasized the importance of holding those responsible for the mismanagement of funds accountable and ensuring that the state’s resources are utilized for the benefit of the citizens.
Furthermore, the group warned the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) administration against engaging in a campaign of calumny against members of the APC in the state.
They stressed the need for unity and patriotism, urging all parties to focus on governance and the development of the state, particularly after the conclusion of the elections.
The statement from the APC youths serves as a reminder of the importance of responsible governance and the effective management of resources in Zamfara State.
