Plateau Killings: Police Arrest Christmas Eve Attackers

The Plateau State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of some suspects in connection with the Christmas Eve killings that took place in Barkin Ladi and Bokkos Local Government Areas of Plateau State on December 24, 2023.

The arrest of these suspects is a crucial step in the ongoing investigation into the tragic events that claimed the lives of over 96 individuals and left over 221 houses burnt.

The Plateau State Police Command has not disclosed the exact number of suspects arrested, but their apprehension brings a glimmer of hope for justice to the affected communities.

The Christmas Eve attacks have been met with widespread condemnation from various groups, including the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), who have called for intensified intelligence gathering to prevent such incidents in the future.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has issued a stern directive to the security agencies to halt the carnage and go after the killers.
