Peter Obi, the Nigeria Democratic Congress presidential candidate, laid out his security blueprint during a Tuesday podcast appearance.
He spoke on the Nevon HQ podcast, hosted by journalist Rufai Oseni, about his approach to Nigeria's insecurity crisis.
Obi said he'd engage in dialogue with all parties if elected president. "Anybody who wants peace, I will talk and negotiate with them," he stated.
But his message carried a warning for those seeking confrontation. "Anybody who wants war, we will go to war," he told listeners.
According to him, those willing to join the nation-building project have a place in his vision. Those who refuse will "face the consequence of your action," Obi added.
He emphasized the need for national truth-telling at this critical moment. "We have got to a point where we have to tell ourselves the truth," he noted.
Inclusion forms a core part of his platform, Obi insisted. "There will be inclusiveness," he said.
"We will show love and care for everybody."
No one would be marginalized under his leadership, the opposition candidate promised. "Nobody will be left behind," Obi concluded.
