The Lagos State Police Command has arrested 150 suspects and recovered 100 unregistered motorcycles, firearms, stolen goods and illicit drugs during raids on criminal hideouts in Igando and Idimu. The operation, part of the ongoing Operation KO S'AYE, targeted black spots at Boolar, Okofilling Bus Stop in Igando, and other dangerous areas within the Area M, Idimu axis.

Police spokesperson SP Abimbola Adebisi said in a statement on Monday that operatives moved at about 5:45 a.m. on Sunday based on credible intelligence. The coordinated raid involved teams from different formations of the Lagos State Police Command working together to flush out criminals terrorising the communities.

"Acting on credible intelligence, a joint team of operatives carried out a coordinated raid on criminal hideouts at these locations," Adebisi said. He explained that the operation aligned with the Command's push to deny criminals any safe refuge anywhere in the state.

Items recovered included 100 unregistered motorcycles, 54 mobile phones, one double-barrel gun, two single-barrel guns, and one locally made double-barrel short gun. Police also seized two military camouflage uniforms, assorted charms, six generators suspected to be stolen property, and substances believed to be Indian hemp and various illicit drugs.

All 150 suspects remain in police custody as investigations continue, according to Adebisi. Those found guilty of criminal offences will face court charges, he noted.

Commissioner of Police Tijani Fatai praised the operatives for their professionalism and dedication during the operation. He committed the Command to sustaining the aggressive anti-crime drive across Lagos and strengthening resident safety.

"Operation KO S'AYE will continue across Lagos to deny criminals safe haven," CP Tijani Fatai said in the statement. The commissioner appealed to residents to provide timely and credible information to help police identify hideouts and arrest offenders.

The Command urged the public to report emergencies or share useful information through its designated emergency lines. Police said community support remains crucial to strengthening public safety across the state.
