Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser on Media and Policy Communication, expressed concern about Atiku Abubakar's prospects in 2027. Speaking on Symfoni TV on Friday, he outlined worries about the former vice president's chances.

Bwala fears Peter Obi of the NDC could outpoll Abubakar in next year's general election. He also warned that Obi might finish a distant fourth instead.

According to him, such an outcome would damage Abubakar's political legacy in what could be his final attempt. In 2023, several governors, senators, and representatives backed the PDP candidate actively.

That support has vanished entirely, Bwala noted. Currently, not a single governor is backing Abubakar's bid.

He added that the former vice president has struggled historically to command strong support from the North-West. This regional challenge compounds his difficulties heading into the election.

Bwala's comments reflect growing concerns within political circles about Abubakar's viability. His candidacy has faced mounting skepticism from key party figures and stakeholders.
