Chief Michael Aondoakaa, the former Attorney-General of the Federation, collected his PDP governorship certificate on Wednesday. The ceremony took place at the party's national headquarters in Abuja.
Aondoakaa will fly the PDP flag in next year's Benue State gubernatorial contest. He arrived alongside his running mate, Dr.
Oyije Ochaekiti Ogbenjuwa, and several party bigwigs from the state.
The senior advocate expressed his gratitude to PDP leadership for backing his ambition. He promised to unite the party and push for victory in 2027.
"I will not take this mandate for granted," Aondoakaa told reporters at the venue. "Together, we will build a stronger and more united PDP capable of reclaiming Benue State in 2027," he added.
Dr. Eunice Ortom also received her certificate that day.
She'll represent the PDP in the Benue North-West senatorial race.
Ortom, a former First Lady of Benue State, joined dozens of other party candidates collecting their official papers. Wednesday's event marked a significant milestone for the PDP ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Party officials hailed the turnout as a show of strength and unity. Campaign activities are expected to begin in earnest in the coming weeks.
